Cainan Balagia
I was born in Austin, Texas, and graduated Salutatorian from Cornerstone Christian Schools in San Antonio, Texas. I developed a strong desire to serve vulnerable people while working in law firms during high school and college summers.
I was honored to be selected as a Fellow in the Oral Roberts University Honors Program at Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma. I obtained my Bachelor in Government, graduating with highest honors and receiving the President’s Award and the Outstanding Academic Achievement Award for Government ‘16.
I received my J.D. from The University of Texas School of Law in Austin, Texas while maintaining membership in the Texas Hispanic Journal of Law and Policy and the Texas Intellectual Property Law Journal and completing over 200 hours of pro bono and volunteer work. I clerked at Erskine & Blackburn PLLC during the summer after my first year of law school and received the Dean’s Achievement Award for Intensive Litigation Advocacy Skills in Fall 2019. After law school, I represented accused persons in criminal cases in Fort Worth and Dallas, Texas for one year. I have been proudly representing injured persons in personal injury cases ever since.
I am married to Alexa Balagia, OTR, who was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. We have two dogs and enjoy traveling, snow skiing, volunteer work and playing board games. My other hobbies include watching sports, fishing, hiking, camping, and playing video games.
